Woodpecker Door Knocker
Pull the leather pulley to knock his beak on the metal plate on the tree branch.

Woodpecker measures 7-1/2″ long

WOOD:
One 1X5 x 7-3/4″ long board, #2 or better grade pine
One 2X12 x 16-3/4″ long board, #2 or better grade pine
Wood Ball One 1″ dia. (#BAL1)
Dowel One 7/16″ dia. x 1-1/4″ long (for beak)

TOOLS:
Hand held sabre saw and scroll saw with a smooth cutting non-chipping blade
3/8″ dia. round over bit

HARDWARE:
Screws Two #6 x 2″ long, flat head
One #2 x 1/4″ long, flat head
Steel Rod One 1/8″ dia. x 3-1/2″ long
Metal Plate One 1/8″ x 3/4″ x 1″
Eyescrew One 1/4″ I.D. x 1/2″ long shank (#EYE4)
SUPPLIES:
Transfer Paper (#CARB)
Pencil and clear tape
Sand paper medium and fine grits
Wood filler non-shrinking, fast drying for wood flaws
Paint brush 2″, 3/4″ and 1/4 wide
Wood glue exterior

PAINT:
White water based primer for a base coat (#PRIMQT) and the following suggested colors of acrylic paint::

SEALER:
High-grade, non-yellowing, semi-gloss UV protected project sealer for outdoor protection (#POLYQT).
